Paul Davidson, a voting member of the Recording Academy, has performed as a professional musician in South Korea, England, Canada, the District of Columbia and fourteen US States. He is a soloist on two Grammy-winning albums. In normal times, he performs locally with the Kansas City Chorale, Kantorei KC, Cardinalis (William Jewell), Festival Choral Society (Spring Hill, KS), Schola Cantorum (Immaculate Conception) and Trinity Choir (Trinity Lutheran – Mission, KS); he sings with the Cecilia Ensemble in Augusta, GA. He lives in Kansas City, KS where he maintains a private voice studio.
The COVID-19 Global Pandemic interrupted all of that work. It also accelerated trends already under way that make it harder and harder for ordinary working musicians to stay out of poverty (musicians who do it for a living, not a side line, yet who don’t have big star power or words like “conductor” after their name).
When you support this work, you support at least one project that supports multiple artists, not just this artist. This is a collaborative career, and multiple musicians are paid with this crowd-funding for every major project.
