March 3, 2021 update to patrons

Thank you for making my music happen. Following a brief heads up on my remnant “regular” gigs coming up, is the current update on how your support is being put to work.

Performances in the Community

As a heads up, I am filling in for someone else, on an emergency basis (short notice) as, well, Jesus, with Te Deum and the Kansas City Baroque Consortium, this weekend, March 7th!

Sign up to watch that, RSVP for the KC Chorale Concert later in the month, and check out everything I’m doing during Holy Week, here:

Dvořák & Burleigh – the next project to be funded by you

Please mark your calendar for a concert of Dvořák & Burleigh on the evening of Friday, April 30th. Rev. Todd O’Neal, who I recorded with in Cincinnati, is coming to Kansas City for this collaboration. More details to come; they will be added to my front page, here:

Dvořák & Burleigh is the current crowd-funded project under way. Final artist roster, scope of program, and repertoire will be set by March’s crowd-funding support. Rev. O’neal’s costs and my overhead are already covered, of course, but the ideal situation would be similar in scope to the February concert. If you plan to support it, but not until after you sort out the next Gas bill payment, just let me know that. I will account for it as we plan out the concert.

Invitation to Love – follow up

Thank you for making last month’s concert so successful.

All eight songs from the Invitation to Love concert live stream are cleaned up and posted to YouTube and SoundCloud (links on my front page, above) in case you want to enjoy that again. If you already watched the live stream, the new audio quality is better than that on the new playlists. Also, no talking or applause, just the music. If you were waiting for the good stuff, it has arrived!

If you like the numbers, about 35 people were in the live audience. About 200 participated in the live stream (this number already excludes “Facebook Inflation” which I count as equal to zero people), and about 1/3 of those watched it all the way from start to finish. Since the concert, another 100 have checked out the live stream archives, and about the same number have played individual tracks since they were uploaded to YouTube and SoundCloud. Again, about 1/3 of all interactions are full plays, start to finish.

Please stay in touch. I look forward to your participation in the audiences over the next several weeks!
